Motivation Monday - Why It’s Time to Reawaken Genesis Hope
“God is alive. He is at work. He is at work in you. He is still creating genesis moments…moments of hope, moments of the unexpected, moments where heaven touches earth and His presence invades our hearts with stunning light and life.”
Last week our Gather Voices Cohort gathered in a virtual room with stunning coaches and delivered their biblically grounded speaks: “Why I Deserve a Seat at the Table”. Although so many in the church dismiss the value of women, Jesus only called women up to participate in His mission to build the church. My hope was reawakened because each woman included the truth that they were, in fact, undeserving, but that it was the grace of God that calls them into partnership with His purpose.
This was a genesis moment.
This morning my friend who co-pastors a church on the West Coast texted me. She delivered a stunning preach, and couldn’t wait to share the news that ten people had accepted Jesus Christ as their Saviour!
This was a genesis moment.
If I am honest, as so many have been hesitant to return back to regular church attendance, and so many have become more spiritual and woke while abandoning Jesus as the source of their identity, I might have stopped believing God is still at work.
God is alive. He is at work. He is at work in you. He is still creating genesis moments…moments of hope, moments of the unexpected, moments where heaven touches earth and His presence invades our hearts with stunning light and life.
The world has changed. But God never has.
God is still creating genesis moments.
The fear of hurricanes, global warming, housing costs, economic uncertainty, and inflation squeeze us tight, as we feel our choices and freedoms slip away.
But God’s unchangeable promises unfold continuously,
illuminating the one glorious pathway that
takes us ever nearer to His glory.
Our lives expand with promises that are new every morning, and kept safe every night,
as He who watches over us, and the entire world, never slumbers.
God is always creating genesis moments. Moments where the light shines in and dispels the darkness. Moments where, against all hope, He answers a long forgotten prayer. Moments where relationships are restored. Moments where the gospel goes out and hearts receive Christ when everyone thinks they were a lost cause. Moments where miracles happen that are beyond our ability to conceive of.
Here are Bible verses to encourage you during the uncertain times, when all human wisdom fails you. These verses resonate with genesis hope
“God is our refuge and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble. So we will not fear when earthquakes come and the mountains crumble into the sea.” Psalm 46:1
“Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:6-7
“Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you.” 1 Peter 5:7
“The Lord will keep you from all evil; he will keep your life. The Lord will keep your going out and your coming in from this time forth and forevermore.” Psalm 121:7-8

Lord, I believe for genesis hope to be sown in the hearts of every woman reading this. I believe you are going ahead and creating a future for each of them because you see them, you love them, and you call them by name.
