Day 24: Goodness
Taste and see that the Lord is good! (Psalm 34:8) God lavishes his goodness on those who love and trust Him.
Psalm 23:6 “Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life;
And I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.”
Galatians 5:22-23 “But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.”
Psalm 31:19 “How great is the goodness you have stored up for those who fear you. You lavish it on those who come to you for protection, blessing them before the watching world.”
Truth: God is good.
- Perhaps you are struggling to believe this truth today. You feel like God has withheld from you, allowed difficultly in your life, or stretched you to a place of discomfort or pain. Talk openly with your heavenly father and express your heart and struggle to know his goodness in this season. He bends down to listen. (Psalm 116:2)
- God wants us to experience His goodness. He invites us to ‘taste and see’ His goodness by engaging all your senses and discovering His goodness. How have you tasted and seen the goodness of God at work in your life? Reflect and pray with thanksgiving!
- Goodness is a fruit of the Spirit. Spend some time asking God to produce the fruit of goodness in you as you abide in Him and allow the Holy Spirit to overflow through you. As others see our good works, they will praise our Father in heaven. (Matthew 5:16).
- Praise God for the fruit of the Holy Spirit, the goodness we are able to do because He lives within us.
