Day 40: Rise
Matthew 28:6 “He is not here; he has risen…”
1 Thessalonians 4:16 “For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first.”
Ephesians 5:14 “This is why it is said: “Wake up, sleeper, rise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you.”
Psalm 119:147 “I rise before dawn and cry for help; I have put my hope in your word.”
Psalm 44:26 “Rise up and help us; rescue us because of your unfailing love.”
Isaiah 60:1-2 “Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord rises upon you. See, darkness covers the earth and thick darkness is over the peoples, but the Lord rises upon you and his glory appears over you.”
- Thank God for the women who have paved the way for you to rise up. Thank God for the national faces who have stepped out more publicly to pave the way for Christian women in this generation to rise up. Ask God to use you to pave the way for the next generation to rise up with bold faith and step into their callings.
- Think of your circle of friends and circle of influence. Where do you struggle to measure, compete or compare? Confess your struggles to Jesus and ask him to free you from any kind of selfish ambition or jealously hindering you from celebrating another’s success and helping another woman rise in their unique and important kingdom calling. Ask God to help you find freedom.
- Daniel and his friends of the Old Testament heard their own call to rise up as Israel lived under captivity in Babylon. There are parallels between Daniel's movement to rise up as a leader and the momentum building in this generation. We don’t face a tangible fiery furnace yet we do stand in front of a culture that counters nearly everything the Bible teaches us. It would be easy to believe there is nothing we can do to make a difference. But that is not true! The church needs us to step up. Both men and women need to rise up. Spend some time in prayer asking God to give you insight into how God might be asking you to rise up? Listen closely for God’s call on your life as Daniel did and ask Him to help you have the courage to respond.
