Motivation Monday - A Season of Brave Bathsheba's Brave Recovery #2
Are you stuck?
Sometimes when we experience pain we get into a place that we just can’t get out of. Regardless of the pain being intentional or unintentional.
So, the question is, how do we make progress? Whether we view ourselves as victims or contributors, moving forward is crucial.
Consider the story of Bathsheba, a woman who had to forgive David, the man who turned her life upside down. She had a past she needed to leave behind and a future she needed to embrace.
Bathsheba could have been hindered in the future because of her past, regardless of whether she was part of those decisions or not. But, instead she chose to speak out with integrity and honour, risking everything. And God used her as part of Jesus’ lineage.
For the sake of the royal lineage of Jesus, it was necessary for Bathsheba to not only own her place in the story, but also encourage David to be the man who would act like a true king. The future was at stake!
When Bathsheba realized her influence over David, she didn't avoid the potential ramifications of speaking her truth. She insisted that David fulfill his promise that her son (Solomon) would succeed him as king.
Would you have the courage to confront authority and speak truth for future generations' sake like Bathsheba did?
Is the weight of past experiences and people holding you back from embracing your future?
Don't let past hurts keep you stuck. Instead, let's learn from Bathsheba's courage and focus on our future.
“Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.”
Philippians 3:13-14
I believe in you!
