Motivation Monday – Why God Has Your Past, Present and Future

God has your past, present and future.
All you have been through. Where you are now. And the plans He has for you in the future.
— Cathie Ostapchuk

We are wired to focus on one point in time at a time. It is difficult to remember the past, focus on the present and thinking about the future all at the same time. We often wish we could either go back to the past, or forget it. We wish we had more than we have in our present. And we spend sleepless nights fearing our future.

God has your past, present and future.

All you have been through.

Where you are now.

And the plans He has for you in the future.

YOU are WHO He thinks on 24/7. We read His intention of keeping you on his mind in Psalm 139:15-18 (TPT):

You even formed every bone in my body
    when you created me in the secret place;
carefully, skillfully you shaped me from nothing to something.
You saw who you created me to be before I became me![
Before I’d ever seen the light of day,
the number of days you planned for me
were already recorded in your book.
Every single moment you are thinking of me!
How precious and wonderful to consider
that you cherish me constantly in your every thought!
O God, your desires toward me are more
than the grains of sand on every shore!
When I awake each morning, you’re still with me.

God Thought of You In Your Past

God does not just go back to your past before the pandemic, He goes right back to the beginning of every fibre, feature and fashioning of you – when you created out of nothing into something magnificent.

God Thinks of You in Your Present

God is thinking of you every single moment in your current journey. Wherever you are, however you are, and whatever you need, He is thinking of all of that right in this moment of your crazy, unsettled, unsure and yet graced life.

God is Totally Involved in Your Future

He has planned your days! What a relief when you don’t know what tomorrow will bring or when it will bring it, that God does! He sees it, he draws you to it, every moment He is asking you to walk on water, He is securely positioned to hold you up and pick you up when you fall. There is a destiny to your every step and that is to keep going toward Jesus, and become more like Jesus in the process. He is doing a masterful work in your life.

It has long been said of God’s saints – that they suffer.

Resurrection only comes from suffering.

Something has to die before something can be raised. He is still Resurrection when things have died in you and all around you. God does not hold time in segments like the past, the present and the future.

In God’s Kairos time, He sees the entire story,

the whole graced trajectory of your life.

He writes the beginning, middle and end of your story and it is stunning.

Things are hard now, absolutely. But the story keeps being written in red. His saving grace is that is thread that connects your past, present and future.

Perhaps this long weekend Monday you can find time to render a written list of all that has happened in your recent past – the good and the bad of it. Remember that He has not only abandoned you in your present but is at work transforming you to His likeness. And watch out because the future He has ordained for us is already in motion.

I believe in you.

Cathie
