Motivation Monday - Why You as a Woman Were Designed to Be Brave

I want to remind you of the women who have gone before you. Women like you. Women like me. Ordinary women who chose to place their trust in an extra-ordinary God. Women who chose to believe in not was probable, but in what was impossible without God’s Spirit breathing brave into their very core.

— Cathie Ostapchuk

The world has upended itself gradually, then suddenly one day and one threat at a time.
It is in this cultural moment, on the eve of International Women’s Day, that I want to remind you of the cultural moments that women throughout the Bible rose to. If you study their contexts, they were challenging, often scandalous, often dangerous moments in history that in which these women could have made different, safer choices

Instead, they rose to the what they believed God was calling them to use their voice for – in their moment, without knowing that their names and stories would be recorded in the best-selling book on Amazon even today – the Bible.

At Gather, we celebrate you. We celebrate your womanhood. We celebrate what makes you uniquely positioned to be a solution to the problems of the world, and brave peacemakers in your family, community, churches, and your nation.

I want to remind you of the women who have gone before you. Women like you. Women like me. Ordinary women who chose to place their trust in an extra-ordinary God. Women who chose to believe in not was probable, but in what was impossible without God’s Spirit breathing brave into their very core.

I pray that the words that follow would become your prayer now, and in the days to come.

She Is Brave Enough to Trust
Grant me the brave of Eve to trust that my worst choice on my
worst day will not disqualify me from God’s love

She Is Brave Enough to Hope
Grant me the brave of Tamar that in scandalous and challenging
circumstances I still believe there will be a future destiny from my seed

She Is Brave Enough to Believe
Grant me the brave of Mary that against all odds I believe God has
chosen me to write the story of the future with Him

She Is Brave Enough to Risk
Grant me the brave of Rahab that when there’s nothing to lose, I
will drop my cord of surrender to save my tribe

She is Brave Enough to Surrender
Grant me the brave of Moses’ mother, and enough courage to
release the thing I hold dearest into a sea of uncertainty

She Is Brave Enough to Love
Give me the brave of Esther who loved her people and put her life
at risk to redeem a nation

She Is Brave Enough to Wait
Grant me the brave of Sarah who beat all the odds and in her
season, produced the seed of all future nations

She Is Brave Enough to Pray
Grant me the brave of Hannah, to stay on my knees and pray
outrageous prayers for future generations

She Is Brave Enough to Stay
Grant me the brave of Ruth to lay at the feet of my Kinsmen
Redeemer when it appears scandalous

She Is Brave Enough to Rise
Grant me the brave of Deborah, to rise and walk into my destiny as
a warrior leader, to radically transform and define a nation

Grant us grace to be brave in the defining moments, choosing one right over another right, praying when others are sleeping, speaking when others are silent, surrendering when others are positioning, having compassion when others are are weeping, trusting when others have given up hope, and rising as warriors to
live out our destiny as the Esther generation.

Girls, we celebrate you in your womanhood and all God has seeded in you.

We know that you carry your people and the world in your heart. We see the future can only be better with you having the confidence to rise in your brave moments to be the woman and do the thing He has asked you and you only to be and do.

May God grant you, through the breath of His Spirit through you, and His resurrection power in you, the grace to be brave enough .... for such a time as this. The world is waiting for your brave to rise. Rise now.

I believe in you.

Cathie
