Motivation Monday - Why You Must Believe God Is A Safe Place

Well, hello Monday, and to all of you who are still here, standing your ground as it literally threatens to give way underneath your feet!
If you are living in this nation, right now, you may have felt that the uncertainty and amplified unrest of the last several weeks has done everything to shake you.
And yet, if you, like me, are turning to the news for insight or wishing and hoping that the division and unrest would just stop, good luck with that strategy. Because wishing and hoping is not a strategy.
A strategy is committing to place your trust in the only One who continues to be safe, unwavering, and steadfast.
If God is here among us, our streets are safe.
If God is fighting our battles, we can stand fearless at the cliff-edge of doom.
Even if the voices of the day are ranting and raving and kings and kingdoms threaten from both sides of the issues, God is still protecting us, and the whole earth has no choice but to, someday, kneel before His sovereignty.
Perhaps he is asking you and I to step out of the traffic, away from politics, and take a long, loving look up to the One who reigns above it all.
Psalm 46 has never been truer than today. The Message declares this truth about God.
God is a safe place to hide,
ready to help when we need him.
We stand fearless at the cliff-edge of doom,
courageous in sea storm and earthquake,
Before the rush and roar of oceans,
the tremors that shift mountains.
Jacob-wrestling God fights for us,
God-of-Angel-Armies protects us.
River fountains splash joy, cooling God’s city,
this sacred haunt of the Most High.
God lives here, the streets are safe,
God at your service from crack of dawn.
Godless nations rant and rave, kings and kingdoms threaten,
but Earth does anything he says.
Jacob-wrestling God fights for us,
God-of-Angel-Armies protects us.
Attention, all! See the marvels of God!
He plants flowers and trees all over the earth,
Bans war from pole to pole,
breaks all the weapons across his knee.
“Step out of the traffic! Take a long,
loving look at me, your High God,
above politics, above everything.”

My prayer for you is the same as it always is. I pray you would see the revelation that you can rise and be reborn. I pray you would bear witness to the miracle that God is doing in the world, emerging even now, in the tremors of life as you face battles without and within.
God does his best work in the storm, on the edge,
and in the dark.
Psalm 51:7
“Lord, shape a Genesis {new} week out of the chaos of my life.”
I pray for you where you are. May you receive the news that God is a safe place to hide and carry that truth close to your heart. It matters now more than ever.
